Innovative Beverage Launches in India

The last few years have seen a wide variety of non-dairy beverage launches that focus on health, wellness and performance. These are startups introducing products that go beyond mere juices or flavored water and - while still niche - are carving out a rather distinct space for themselves.

Incorporated in 2012, and launched in 2013. They are based out of Pune, Maharashtra and

Incorporated in 2014, and launched in 2017. They are based out of Ahmedabad, Gujarat and

Blue Tokai Coffee

Launched in 2015. They are based out of Mumbai, and offer a variety of coffee blends. They've launched a bottled version of their cold-brew. Last seen: Soho House in Juhu, Mumbai.

Sleepy Owl Coffee

Brewhouse Teas

Incorporated in 2017. They are based out of Delhi, and offer iced tea in a variety of flavors under Brewhouse. Recent reports suggest they are going to launch a carbonated version too. Last seen: Crawford Market, Mumbai.

Merhaki Beverages

Incorporated in 2017, and launched in 2018. They are based out of Bangalore, Karnataka and

offer functional 'bio-active' drinks crafted for women and inspired by Ayurveda. They're stocked out of their PCOS drink, and seem to get good reviews for their PMS version. Last seen: Health & Wellness Expo at Goregaon, Mumbai.

AV Organics

Incorporated in 2018, and launched in 2019. They are based out of Vadodara, Gujarat and

offer black, highly mineralized alkaline water infused with humic and fulvic substances (under Evocus). This is quite similar to BLK. Water, previously imported into the country and available on Foodhall shelves. Last seen: Online.

Incorporated in 2018, and launched in the same year. They are based out of Delhi, and
